패트릭 스튜어트가 <로건>을 마지막으로 엑스맨 영화에 더 이상 출연하지 않을 것이라 밝혔다.
스튜어트는 <로건> 홍보를 위한 SiriusXFM 타운홀 행사에서 자신 또한 엑스맨 영화는 이번 작품이 마지막이 될 것이라 밝혔다.
A week ago, Friday night in Berlin, the three of us sat, watching the movie … And I was so moved by it, much more moved than I had been the first time of seeing it. Maybe it was the company of these two guys, but the movie ended and — this is an admission — but at one point [Hugh] reached out, and he took my hand in those last few minutes, and I saw him go [mimes wiping a tear from his eye] like this, and then I realized I had just done the same thing … I realized there will never be a better, a more perfect, a more sensitive, emotional, and beautiful way of saying au revoir to Charles Xavier than this movie. So, I told [Hugh] that same evening, ‘I’m done too. It’s all over.’

<엑스맨>, <울버린>, <데드풀> 시리즈의 프로듀서인 사이먼 킨버그가 현재 준비중인 <뉴 뮤턴트>와 <데드풀 2>에 대한 최신 상황을 전했다.
킨버그는 <로건> 홍보를 위한 콜라이더와의 인터뷰에서 두 영화 모두 올해 촬영, 내년 개봉을 목표로 하고 있다고 전했다.
We’re gearing up to make both of them this year. New Mutants we’re waiting on a new draft of the script, which we’re all very excited about. Josh Boone has been prepping that movie. Josh is someone who is a lifelong, hardcore fan of New Mutants, and the plan is to make that movie late spring, early summer of this year, and have it come out next year.
Similarly with Deadpool 2, Ryan and the guys have been working hard on the script. We have a really good script for that movie, and we’re into the casting process right now for some of the new characters. There aren’t a lot of new characters, but there are some big ones, as I’m sure you can imagine. And the plan would be to shoot that movie this year as well and have it come out next year. So potentially next year you will have a surfeit of X-Men and X-Men-related movies in theaters.

킨버그는 또한 <엑스맨> 프랜차이즈에 대한 장기 계획이 있으며, 이는 현재 제작하는 각각의 영화들이 미래에 하나의 지점에서 교차하게 하는 것에 대한 계획이라고 밝혔다. 하지만 현재는 영화를 만드는 사람들이 만들고 싶은 대로 만들도록 하려 한다고 전했다.
